This is done before you install Enderal's version of Skyrim, but you only establish the it's Ini's, after Enderal is installed and updated, by running the game from the launcher, and starting a new game (Just like with Skyrim) each then has their own Vanilla setup.
So doing the same renaming to the other folders the game uses, again preserves the total separation of the two Games, because Enderal is after all a different game. Again, this avoids complications, before they become a problem. Vanilla Plugins list, Saves, and Skyrim Ini'sĮven though MO will control these, the different games use different settings as the Vanilla starting point. Reinstalling that backup is much quicker than using Steam's Verify Cache, but remember to apply MO and other mods, will always just work as expected.Īny names will do, I prefer a descriptive systemn as Gopher SuggestsĪre what I use, but the Vanilla ones are actually archived as backups, and stored on a separate Hard Drive, not left on my games SSD. Simply call the game you are active on "Skyrim", while yuo are actively doing anything to it. There's no guarantee that, 3rd party exe's like FNIS, bodyslide etc will work correctly if you run Enderal from a directory, other than the one Steam expects. Simply keep the game you're playing and/or modding named Skyrim, it avoids any potential, and unnecessary, complications with any mods, including MO, that may just operate on that location automatically. My game keeps crashing whenever I try loading a saved game with the Eager NPCS enabled.I'm supposed to be an MO expert, and though I've not modded Skyrim for a while, I keep up with thinga, and am part of the MO support team, though I tend to be more of a roaming MO guru these days. These all work except the two that I stated I haven't tried yet.
